Scott Conger has long served the West Tennessee community. Even prior to his work with United Way, his involvement with his church, local nonprofit boards, and civic organizations and his service on the Jackson City Council have always been a testament to his leadership ability and desire to serve others. Scott received his undergraduate degree from Lane College and his Master of Business Administration from Bethel University. Upon graduation, Scott worked with alma mater Lane College and the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation before joining United Way of West Tennessee as President / CEO in May of 2015. Scott’s favorite hobbies are coaching, reading, and running - he recently completed the St. Jude Marathon for the second time as part of the UWWT team. Scott and his wife Nikki live in Jackson with their daughter, Madelynn.
SENIOR RESOURCE DIRECTOR
MADISON, CHESTER, CROCKETT, & HARDEMAN COUNTIES
Pat Ross has been a part of the United Way of West Tennessee team for over 25 years. Pat’s responsibilities include the planning and implementation of fundraising efforts each year in our largest region - Madison, Crockett, Hardeman, and Chester counties; she also oversees our Christmas Partners and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs each year. Her service to the community doesn’t stop there. Pat also serves the Family Self Sufficiency Program, City of Jackson Planning Commission, One Jackson Action Committee, is a member of Leadership Jackson 2012 and a Sterling Awards Most Influential Women of West Tennessee recipient, along with serving the Jackson Chamber as a Red Coat Ambassador. She is the proud mother of a recent college graduate, and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with family.
GIBSON, DYER, LAKE, & MCNAIRY COUNTIES
Kristen Chambers joined the United Way team in August of 2016. Kristen serves as the Resource Development Director of Gibson, Dyer, Lake, and McNairy counties and is responsible for fundraising strategy, account management, and volunteer coordination for these areas.
A Jackson native, Chambers holds a degree in marketing from Lipscomb University and worked in banking prior to joining the United Way team. In her spare time, Kristen serves as President of the Jackson Cotillion Club, and also enjoys running and travelling.
CARROLL, HAYWOOD, HENDERSON, & WEAKLEY COUNTIES
Ashley Gooch joined the United Way team in December of 2016. Ashley serves as the Resource Development Director of Carroll, Haywood, Henderson, and Weakley counties and is responsible for fundraising strategy, account management, and volunteer coordination for these areas.
A Lexington native, Gooch holds a degree in Psychology from Freed-Hardeman University and managed Woodstock Bakeshop in Jackson prior to joining the United Way team.
Janet Johnson joined the United Way team in October of 2016 as Finance Director. Janet came to us from California where she dedicated her time to supporting a U.S. naval air test and evaluation squadron. Her prior experience as a company representative during United Way fundraising campaigns showed her the impact and value that non-profits provide within the communities they serve. Janet holds a B.S. degree in Business from Bellevue University, Nebraska. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, DIY projects, and exploring the beautiful state of Tennessee.
Erika Dean joined the United Way team in October of 2016. As Office Manager, Erika's job is constantly changing as she assists the Finance Director and Resource Directors with their goals; she also contributes to the Social Media pages and website. Erika graduated from Union University in 2012 with a degree in English. Her prior experience with the Boys & Girls Club of Humboldt helped her discover her passion for local nonprofit work. In her spare time, she invests in the Humboldt community where she recently bought a home.
