United Way Volunteers
Volunteers are the heart and soul of United Way of West Tennessee. You may think volunteering means picking up a paintbrush, planting trees, or working in a soup kitchen. But many nonprofits need professional services like writing a business plan, doing their books, developing a web site, board governance, or software training. United Way offers you several ways to get involved and make an impact. United Way of West Tennessee is a volunteer-driven organization designed to identify community needs, develop plans to address these needs, and bring together the resources necessary to do so. It currently funds more than 90 non-profit agencies in Madison, Crockett, Hardeman, Gibson, McNairy, Weakley, Henderson, Haywood, Carroll and Dyer counties. Planning, fundraising, and community investing are guided by local volunteers and Boards of Directors in each county. The agencies funded by United Way provide a full range of health and human care services that meet the needs and concerns of all ages and economic groups. |
